A joint report by environmentalists warns that there’ll be unacceptable risks to communities from a deep sea mining project by a Canadian company off Madang on Papua New Guinea’s north coast.
The report called “Out of Our depths” by Mining Watch Canada and Papua New Guinea’s Centre for Environmental Law and Community Rights or CELCOR details serious environmental and social impacts on communities resulting from the world’s first deep sea mining project.
